Overview

This is your chance to run for a position on the 2026-2027 committee! All roles up for election and a brief description for each can be found below.

The EGM will be taking place on the 4th of November. Candidates will have the opportunity to present their manifestos, with members being able to ask any questions after their presentations.

Voting will open for 10 minutes after the presentations have taken place, during which we'll give out the usual free pizza!

Roles

  • Welfare Officer: Works to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment across the Group, to act as a welfare contact for the group in case of any concerns, and to guide Members toward the appropriate support services when needed.
  • Marketing Officer: Communicates the Group’s activities to Members and the Students’ Union, by posting weekly on the Group’s social media. They will create the advertising material for this and organise the merchandise for the Group.
  • Technical Officer 2: Responsible for the technical aspects of the Group, such as hardware, the development of challenges, the management of the Group’s virtual machine and related infrastructure, and other technical items. They will coordinate with the Vice-President and Webmaster where needed.
  • Webmaster 2: Responsible for the development and maintenance (including backups) of the website and other persistent web infrastructure of the Group, such as the flag tracker. They may coordinate with the Technical Officer to assist with other technical aspects of the Group. There can be no more than 2 Webmasters.
  • CTF Officer: Responsible for creating and maintaining the challenges, both individual and team challenges, for the Group. They will make sure that the old challenges are working and new challenges are added as much as possible. They will coordinate CTF team challenges within the Group and also with other Groups.
  • Industry Officer: Responsible for creating partnerships with companies that align with our society’s interests. This includes reaching out to potential companies, but also responding and negotiating to offers received from companies. They will be in charge of the sponsorship brochure, which includes setting the logistics of the sponsorship packages.
