Overview

October 2024 EGM

EGM stands for Extraordinary General Meeting and is where any open roles on committee are up for election. This is an opportunity for members to join the commitee and help run the society. At this EGM, we are electing one role:

• Social Secretary: The Social Secretary shall provide social and cultural pursuits for the Group’s Members on a large/small scale, and organise social events. The Social Secretary shall be responsible for the welfare of the Members of the Group.

• Member without portfolio: A member of committee to help with everything from ordering pizza to developing challenges, we can have up to three members without portfolio and encourage anyone who would like to help and is ready for a challenge to give it a go.

Member Talks

Following the EGM we have the opportunity for members of the society to do a short talk or around 10 minutes on areas of Cyber Security that interest them.

• Did a CTF and want to show us the solution?
• Want to talk about something we don’t have a session for?
• Something interesting you read about recently?

It is common in the industry - especially in consultancy - to talk about your research work or findings of a penetration test. If you're not confident with public speaking, this is a great opportunity to practice your skills! Those who take part will recieve a flag worth 1500 points on our flag tracker.
