October 2024 EGM

EGM stands for Extraordinary General Meeting and is where any open roles on committee are up for election. This is an opportunity for members to join the commitee and help run the society. At this EGM, we are electing one role:

• Events Officer: responsible for maintaining relationships with industry, and organising guest talks and workshops. The Events Officer shall organise educational events, such as hackathons and collaborations with other societies. The Events Officer shall also assist with any other aspects of the running of the Group in collaboration with the rest of the committee.

Member Talks

Following the EGM we have the opportunity for members of the society to do a short talk or around 10 minutes on areas of Cyber Security that interest them.

• Did a CTF and want to show us the solution?
• Want to talk about something we don’t have a session for?
• Something interesting you read about recently?

It is common in the industry - especially in consultancy - to talk about your research work or findings of a penetration test. If you're not confident with public speaking, this is a great opportunity to practice your skills! Those who take part will recieve a flag worth 1500 points on our flag tracker.
