Overview
We're proud to invite Harry from Netcraft to talk about web shells this week! This guest session will replace our usual session, but will still be held in 67/1037 from 6-8pm. Like usual, it will be recorded and livestreamed on our Discord.
Synopsis
Abstract
"Web shells are programs that attackers upload to compromised web servers to maintain remote access to infected machines, often including functionality to evade detection and analysis.
In this talk, Harry will discuss the role that web shells play in cybercrime, demonstrate real-world web shells that Netcraft encounters and explain how Netcraft detects and performs countermeasures against web shells."
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites required for this session, although basic awareness of what we covered in Web 102 may help you understand what is discussed.
